Chen Jianlong majored in Communication Design from LASALLE SIA College of The Arts in Singapore. He initially started out as a graphic designer, which subsequently extended to designing fashion apparel and accessories. Chen Jianlong’s designs have been featured in L’ILE AUX ASHBY, a fashion and lifestyle label, since the inception in 2005. His work has also appeared in local and international media including VOGUE, VOGUE Italia, Glamour UK, The New York Times, Marie Claire Italy. In 2005, he won the Red Dot Design Concept, an international award on making products with good design. In 2009 he was awarded the young entrepreneur startup funding from Spring Singapore. In year 2009 to 2011, his brand got selected by PARCO Singapore and Japan to be part of the fashion incubator programme organized by Spring Singapore, Textile and Fashion Federation and PARCO Singapore to kick start his first brand concept flagship store at PARCO Millenia Walk, Singapore.Chen Jianlong was part of Born Designer 2012 and hi work was showcased at a special event in 2012 by Courchevel. In 2013, L’ILE AUX ASHBY showcased two seasons of Spring Summer collection at Seoul Fashion Week. His masterpiece was worn and loved by Asia International Singer Jolin Tsai and Ah Mei Zhang Hui Mei. He showcased his Spring Summer collection in Singapore at Digital Fashion Week (DFW) 2013. Chen Jianlong collaborated a series of handbags with PEDRO Singapore in conjunction with DFW. In 2014, he was invited by Senayan City Fashion Runway Hits, Jakarta to showcase his latest collection together with the other 2 Asia Designers. Sara Maino selected Chen Jianlong as one of the Top 10 in VOGUE Talents 2014.

In 2015, Chen Jianlong was appointed as the Creative Director of MAD Museum of Art & Design, Singapore. Together with the founder Ms Jasmine Tay, he co-curate a MAD Show with International renown artists, including Danny Yung (Hong Kong), Kongo Cyril Phan (France), Kim Robinsons (Australia/Hong Kong), Chiu Ya Tsai (Taiwan), Lee Ki Young (Korea), Wu Yong Ping (China).
