Wang Yuyang, a video of the artist talking about his interest in the physical world, technology and history. His Moon works are just one of his many subjects, seeking to explore the world from unknown and known perspectives. Directed by Fabien Pacory, this video is 5.56 in length.
A multi-media practice that encompasses sculpture, painting, photography and video, Wang Yuyang’s work focuses on the relationship between humans and technology, earth and space. For The Moon, the artist presents a series of large-scale canvases that investigate the depths and significance of the earth’s only permanent natural satellite. Each canvas in the exhibition is a scientific replica of the moon’s entire surface, to which the art adds colour. The artist observes the moon through camera equipped video glasses, capturing the moon in motion videos. The colour of the moon is derived from a colour palette, while the artist sees everything in black and white during the process.
